Our duo was formed in Richmond, Virginia in 1996 and performs locally at clubs, restaurants, special events, weddings and private parties. We play a variety of styles, including standards, pop, oldies, light rock and jazz, country, gospel, and folk. The blending of male and female voices in clear, layered harmonies with the acoustic sound of stringed instruments creates the duo's unique sound. We plan a customized program of music for every engagement, including your favorites. Liz Nance has sung professionally for 20 years in North Carolina, Richmond and D.C. Since returning to Richmond in 1994, she formed this duo, appeared in the musical review, Back to Bacharach and David and performed frequently as a soloist for weddings. She sings classical and sacred music as a Section Leader in the Parish Choir at St. James's. She works as an independent marketing consultant and copywriter for a variety of clients including non-profit arts organizations, human services, medicine, tourism, and architecture. Russell Lawson has been playing and singing popular music for over 35 years. In addition, he writes original songs, some of which evoke his early roots in the Charleston, South Carolina lowlands. Russell enjoys recording tapes of original songs in his small home studio. He sings in the bass section of the West Gallery Choir at St. James's. Russell works as the marketing director for a local law firm. Russell plays Martin 6-string and 12-string guitars. To book them for an event or performance, |
