Ready for Your Trial? (Part 2)
Inevitably, the risks of public conversations overtake the unprepared. This month’s CIO magazine has this recent article on the exposure brought on by online conversational media and text media. All the tweeting and texting leave real trails for news and legal hounds to follow.
The risk management is relatively simple, just like avoiding the harassment claims over a decade ago that caught corporate America with its pants down would have been simple, if only companies would take the steps to be prepared. In the case of online social media, preparation of a set of corporate rules need to get started and ethical expectations need to be in place. These are powerful needs that have gotten behind the technological curve, but can easily ride the front of the wave, instead. And it is a great opportunity for law firms who understand the risks and the technology to be of service to their clients.
